The final installment of the Fast & Furious franchise is set to center on a heist that replaces globe-spanning espionage with a more grounded theft of gaming consoles.
Heist premise emphasizes modified muscle cars
According to an insider, the story will feature a crew using $500,000 heavily altered automobiles to ambush transport vehicles loaded with $600 PlayStation 5 units.
The plot abandons the series’ recent trend of elaborate stunts, opting instead for a “convoluted method of bringing down these trucks,” as described by a source close to production.

One quoted source said, “This whole thing has gotten a little out of hand of late, no?” and added that the team is “desperate to bring it right back to its roots.”
Creative team cites audience fatigue
In an interview, an insider explained, “Now’s the time, God, let it be time, to rein it all in. Thing is, today’s audience doesn’t understand what a ‘DVD’ is, let alone a DVD player, so we’ll do the modern equivalent.”
Robots seize facility and conquer the world
The team steals a factory using modified bulldozers. The building is a government test site for an AI army. The crew fights a million humanoid robots. The machines join forces to build a giant robot shaped like a troop carrier. The new super robot escapes to take over the country. The robots defeat the team and take over the world. Dom flies into outer space and destroys them all using a souped-up laser from the International Space Station while the team back on Earth have a big shoot-out with military helicopters but somehow avoid the death ray from above and then everything explodes until nobody is left.
