Mini has unveiled the Untamed Edition of its Countryman model, a rugged crossover designed for off-road adventures. This special edition features a 19mm higher ride height, achieved through 15mm taller suspension and Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain tires. Modern, BMW-run Mini celebrates its 25th year in 2026, making this a fitting addition to its lineup of special editions.
Off-Road Enhancements
The Untamed Edition includes optimized steering, ABS, and stability control, along with 19-inch alloy wheels designed to resemble steel. These upgrades aim to improve the vehicle’s off-road capabilities, including approach and breakover angles. Mini has also tweaked the car’s systems to complement the new hardware, ensuring better performance on rough terrain. The specially developed Pirelli tires not only enhance grip but also add to the vehicle’s rugged aesthetic.
A roof tent, developed with Authome, is also available, offering quick setup and weather resistance for outdoor enthusiasts. This tent, which opens in seconds thanks to gas struts, is made from weather-resistant materials and features panoramic openings, making it a practical addition for camping trips. Helinox camping furniture, designed to match the car’s color scheme, further enhances the outdoor experience.
Regional Differences
In the US, the Untamed Edition is available across petrol and electric powertrains, except for the John Cooper Works model. However, European customers can only specify the taller ride height with the electric Countryman E or SE, while petrol models receive a visual makeover. This regional difference reflects varying market demands and regulatory environments.
Pricing and Availability
Production of the Untamed Edition begins in Germany later this year, with sales starting in early 2027. In the UK, prices start at £33,595 for the front-wheel-drive Countryman C Untamed, which features a 168bhp three-cylinder petrol engine and represents a £550 increase over the Sport trim. For those seeking more power, the 215bhp, four-cylinder Countryman S with ALL4 all-wheel drive is available for an additional £7,000.
The electric variants come with a higher price tag due to their more extensive mechanical upgrades. The single-motor Countryman E starts at £37,255, while the dual-motor Countryman SE ALL4 is priced at £40,755. The all-terrain tires are a £600 option, adding further off-road capability. To prove its mettle, Mini is sending the Untamed Edition to the 2026 Rebelle Rally, a 1,500-mile all-female off-road competition across the Nevadan and Californian desert, with Felicia Killman and Erika Ferrer behind the wheel.
