Is this one-off Bugatti Veyron the ultimate restomod? The French manufacturer has restored and upgraded a version of its legendary Veyron, 20 years after the original car made its debut.
It seems hard to believe the archetypal modern hypercar is already two decades old, which is perhaps a sign to Jozef Kaban’s timeless design. To mark the anniversary, and to showcase the talents of its La Maison Pur Sang customisation department, Bugatti has given its 250mph icon the restomod treatment. Developed in partnership with its owner, the unique La Maison Pur Sang Veyron 20 Years subtly incorporates numerous modern details, resulting in a truly one-of-one Bugatti.
The exterior of the La Maison Pur Sang Veyron 20 Years features paint options taken from Bugatti’s later models, creating a colour combination never seen before. ‘Rouge Rembrandt’ covers the wings and doors of the Veyron – a hue developed for the marque’s new V16-powered Tourbillon. This is combined with ‘Petrol Blue’, taken from the 2016 Chiron, to create a unique pair of contrasting colours.

La Maison Pur Sang has also redesigned the mesh filling the Veyron’s various intake grilles, with a three-dimensional effect that provides a more youthful appearance. The Veyron’s trademark ‘Machiavelli’ alloy wheels have also grown in size, to 20 inches at the front and 21s at the rear. Like many of the best restomods, the alterations made aren’t immediately obvious, yet they are enough to set the car apart from a ‘standard’ Veyron.
Given its already prodigious power output, the quad-turbocharged W16 engine has been left unaltered. This preservation of the original powerplant ensures the chassis and drivetrain remain within their designed limits, avoiding the mechanical fatigue that often accompanies significant performance upgrades.
Inside the cabin
Inside, La Maison Pur Sang Veyron 20 Years has been retrimmed in Magnolia leather. New Moccasin stitching has been developed, with the hand-crafted effect applied to the steering wheel and gear lever. A special ‘20 years of Veyron’ emblem is fitted between the seats, plus there is a new ‘Côte de Genève’ finish for the dashboard.

With this exquisite example of the Veyron, La Maison Pur Sang further raises the exceptional opportunities that it offers, where fully tailor-made restorations find their place in the echelons of automotive history.”
While the mechanical heart remains untouched, the restomod approach effectively extends the usable life of an aging platform. In an era where original cars are increasingly locked away in climate-controlled collections, these bespoke conversions offer a practical path for enthusiasts to enjoy a piece of history without compromising its value.
