Porsche’s Cayenne Electric has entered the Indian market with its base model priced at ₹1.77 crore, becoming the first public showcase of the electric SUV in the country. The vehicle was revealed after local pricing details were confirmed, arriving in two configurations: the standard Cayenne Electric and the Cayenne Turbo Electric, which starts at ₹2.28 crore. Both models utilize the Volkswagen Group’s 800V Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, incorporating an 113 kWh battery, dual-motor setup, and all-wheel drive as standard.
The standard Cayenne Electric produces 408 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque, with Launch Control increasing output to 442 horsepower and 835 Nm. It achieves 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 230 km/h. The Turbo variant delivers 857 horsepower and 1,360 Nm under normal conditions, or 1,156 horsepower and 1,500 Nm with Launch Control engaged. This model accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260 km/h. Both versions offer WLTP-rated ranges of 642 km for the standard model and 623 km for the Turbo.
The vehicle’s charging capabilities are supported by the 800V system, enabling up to 390 kW DC fast charging. This allows the battery to reach 10-80% charge in 16 minutes, while a 10-minute charging stop adds up to 324 km of range. On AC power at 22 kW, a full charge takes approximately 5.75 hours.
Design-wise, the Cayenne Electric shares elements with the Macan Electric, featuring oblong Matrix LED headlamps and a wide front air dam with vertical intakes. Dimensions stand at 4,985 mm long, 1,980 mm wide, and 1,674 mm tall, with a 3,023 mm wheelbase, making it 55 mm longer than the petrol-powered Cayenne. Standard equipment includes 20-inch alloy wheels, with 22-inch wheels available as an option. The rear showcases a sloping roofline, wraparound LED tail lights, and a large roof spoiler.
Inside, the cabin features predominantly black finishes, with a 14.5-inch OLED touchscreen dominating the dashboard alongside a 14.25-inch OLED driver display. Optional additions include a three-spoke steering wheel and a 14.9-inch passenger screen. Standard features encompass a 10-speaker sound system, eight-way powered and heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Porsche’s customization options extend to interior finishes, while the boot offers a capacity of 781 liters.
