Danish charging platform Spirii has appointed Mathias Wiecher as its new CEO, succeeding co-founder Tore Harritshøj, who led the company since its inception.
Mathias Wiecher brings over 12 years of international experience in e-mobility, energy, and transport, according to Spirii.
He most recently served as General Manager for Energy and Charging Infrastructure at Einride, a company known for its electric and autonomous freight transport solutions.
Wiecher‘s role at Einride also included charging infrastructure, and he previously sat on the supervisory boards of Virta and Hubject, giving him in-depth knowledge of the charging industry.
He also spent many years working at E.ON, and his experience is expected to benefit Spirii as it continues to grow.
The company’s announcement does not comment on the future role of founder Tore Harritshøj, leaving his next steps unclear.
Spirii has recently secured several high-profile clients, including DHL Express Norway, Daimler Truck, and Circle K.

“Spirii has been on an incredible journey – from a small team of pioneers with a bold vision to the international company we are today, and I’m immensely proud of what we’ve built together,” says Harritshøj in a statement.
“Now feels like the right moment to hand over, and I’m confident that Mathias is well positioned to lead Spirii forward.”
Wiecher expressed his excitement about taking on the role as CEO of Spirii, citing the company’s strong foundation, talented team, and clear purpose.
Spirii was acquired by French company Edenred in 2024, which specializes in transaction solutions and aims to strengthen its business in transaction solutions for the charging sector.
“Over the past years, Spirii has built a strong, market-leading offering within platform-based charging solutions,” says Diane Coliche, Global COO Mobility at Edenred.
“It is now ready to scale even further across markets and I’m confident that Mathias is the right person to lead this next phase of growth, with the objective of helping fleets worldwide in their electrification journey, leveraging the full capabilities of the Edenred Group.”
